I'm absolutely amazed to the extent some people go to express themselves over such trivial issues on the internet. The negatives seem to be entirely based around personal preference, and don't display any major flaws of the game.Īpparently, #toomuchwater is now becoming a thing too after that review. It isn't like Gamefreak could have altered the map to make the sea areas smaller. Also, the water complaint is just stupid. It's never bothered me before, never did in the originals, and won't now. I don't really view the HM's as a con, as I always just use some random geodude or what have you as my HM slave throughout the game. If we could just throw out arbitrary numbers, I feel like this game is more deserving of being in the mid 8's. I understand that we have different reviewers reviewing different games, but it's beyond me how the original Ruby/Sapphire could score a 9.5 while a completely improved version gets a 7.8. I don't disagree with the score (that much), but the reasoning is flawed. Granted, you will need to play the games in order to give a more accurate opinion, but first impressions are welcome as well as post game impressions when these do release later this week. Whether or not the review is fair or not is really moot since reviews are all opinion based, but from what you've seen or have played so far do you feel you will enjoy this game more than the reviewer? Keep in mind that this is still a good score so you would need to truly feel you had an amazing time with the game.

It doesn't seem like the Nintendo side of the forum is completely on fire like the comments of the review, so I was wondering what you all's take is on the game so far.

If you have not yet read or watched IGN's review over these games I have linked them below. As most of you know, IGN has just posted a review today for the newest remakes for the third generation Pokemon games.
